Intercontinental Sydney Double Bay (Sydney, Australia)

We spent one night at the Intercontinental Sydney Double Bay after we found it was priced much lower than usual for the night of December 8.

Room

We were given a standard fourth floor room overlooking the interior courtyard. The room was large with a king bed, desk, and a lounger.

The bathroom was also large with a bathtub, shower stall, and a separate toilet room.

Pool

We were excited to go swimming in the roof-top infinity pool. When we arrived at the pool shortly before sunset we were surprised to be greeted by a party. The pool bar seemed to attract parties of dressed up people more than people there to enjoy the pool. The pool seemed to be a pool to look at, not a pool to swim in. We awkwardly sat on the pool edge with our feet in the water while we enjoyed the view.

General Impressions

We’re just not fans of pretentious hotels. We’d enjoyed Sydney Harbor YHA so much more than the Intercontinental. Although nice, it and its guests are just not our style.
