APA Villa Hotel Nagoya Marunouchi Ekimae (Nagoya, Japan)

We stayed at APA Villa Hotel Nagoya Marunouchi Ekimae for 10 nights during RoboCup 2017.

We stayed in a semi-double room with a small double bed. The room was small – most of my team stayed in slightly smaller rooms alone. There was only one chair and no storage space outside a small area at the end of the bed, a window sill, and an open closet nook.

The in-room bathroom was very small, but there was a gender-segregated public bath on the 14th floor. We saw other guests heading to and from the bath in their robes in the evenings, so we gave it a try.

The public bath was small but popular, with a sauna, about 6 shower stations, an indoor hot pool, an outdoor hot pool, an indoor cold pool, and a coin-operated washer and dryer. Unfortunately, the public bath closed at midnight so it was useless during RoboCup since we usually returned around midnight.

Luggage storage at the hotel consisted of bags being tied together and left in the lobby check-in area. The @Home team had some issues with the hotel not allowing package delivery or pick-up even when members of the @Home team were there to drop off and receive the packages.

The hotel was a 15-20 minute walk (or a short subway ride) from Nagoya station and had plenty of good places to eat around it. As almost anywhere in a large Japanese city, there were multiple convenience stores very nearby.
