Montreal Day 2

This post is written by Katie, about her time in Canada before the 15th Annual North American Bird Strike Conference.

After waking up at 8:30am, enjoying the included breakfast, and packing up my belongings to change from a 10-bed dorm to a 2-bed dorm (since it would be quieter for the conference), I stayed at HI-Montreal all day and worked on my conference slides.

It did rain most of the day and they cancelled Picnik Electronilk due to the rain, so staying in and working actually worked out really well.  After checking out of the 10-bed dorm, I stored my luggage in the luggage room (room 106) and sat in the basement dining area for 5 hours and worked until 3:30pm when I checked into my new room (308).

After I settled into my new room, I worked there until 8pm, at which point I decided to go to the basement kitchen and prepare dinner.  I cooked spinach and cheese tortellini with pasta sauce and garlic bread for dinner, and it ended up being really tasty.  I bought a CAD5 local wheat beer from the bar to complement my meal.

After dinner, I headed back to my room to blog for a while and settle in.  The front desk said I likely would not have a room-mate tonight, and so far no one else has appeared!
