After a late night at the ABGT 100 concert, we started the morning out slowly with late breakfast / early lunch at the market across the street from the YMCA.
After breakfast/lunch we headed to Central Park. Katie was excited to see baby red slider turtles in one of the lakes at Central Park. We wandered the park for a while, enjoying the fall weather and clear skies.
In the afternoon we met up with Clinton, one of our friends from Georgia Tech who now lives in New Jersey. We opted to take a walk together on the High Line, an elevated park and walk-way in down-town New York City. The walk was very plesant, but as the sun set, we started to get rather cold.
We retreated to a pub near one of the High Line exits, and enjoyed some beer, dinners, and good conversation. Clinton was taking the bus back home, so we walked with him over to the bus station. He had a while to wait until the next bus, so we stopped by a brewery right next to the bus station. Here we opted for beer tasting flights, which included 6 small beers for each of us! This might have been a bit much, but we all had a good time!
After Clinton caught his bus, we headed back to the YMCA with short detours to check out Time’s Square and Grand Central station after dark.
