Best Western Melbourne Airport Motel and Convention Centre (Melbourne, Australia)

We stayed two nights at the Best Western Melbourne Airport Motel and Convention Centre.

We took the airport shuttle from the airport after dropping our rental car off. At check-in, we were given a free upgrade to a “spa room”, which had a hot tub in the main bedroom area.

The Room

The spa room had a queen bed and a table with two chairs.

The room was comfortable enough, but the floor was really sticky by the fridge. When we opened the fridge, we figured out why: the previous guest had turned the fridge too cold and some bottles from the mini bar had burst! We reported this to reception, which said they’d deal with it after we checked out.

The Property

There was a salt-water pool and grill near our room.

There was an onsite restaurant and conference center. We didn’t try the restaurant since it was rather expensive.

Interestingly, guests at the hotel could use the laundry facilities at the nearby RV resort. The washer was A$4 and we used the free clothing trees outside to air dry the clothing.

We used a clothing tree to save on the dryer.

Surrounding Area

The hotel was in a residential area, but there were fast food restaurants just a 15 minute walk away.

Dinner at a nearby Mediterranean fast food place.

There was a park on the way to the restaurants that had frogs that would chirp like a guitar being plucked. We enjoyed listening to the frogs as we walked in the park.
