Austin Trail of Lights

We went to the Austin Trail of Lights ($3/person) at Zilker Park with some couples we met at one of HI Austin‘s travel dinners.  Here are some pictures from the trail.  Although going to the trail is a super popular thing for Austinites to do, this was only our second year attending the Trail of Lights.

This was the 50th year of the Trail of Lights.
Mandatory selfie at the entrance.

This year we rode with the other couples in a car.  The parking pass was $15, and traffic was terrible.  We’d recommend taking one of the shuttle buses – or walking – instead of driving.  There are plenty of food trucks on the trail, but most (1) had long lines, (2) only took cash, and (3) were running out of food. We opted to go to Trudy’s with the couples after the trail instead.

This tunnel felt magical.
There are many sponsored scenes on the trail, including this very Texas-feeling one.
The trees wrapped with lights were well-done.
