Rome Day 1

This post is written by Katie, about her travel in Europe after IROS 2015.

This was really only a third of a day, as I arrived via train around 3pm.

I walked to The Yellow hostel, checked in, and was escorted to a 4-bed dorm in a building across the street from reception (A44).  I picked one of the two open top bunks, made my bed, and stored my belongings in the huge under-bed storage area as well as in my own personal wall safe.

After settling in, I noticed SPQR‘s university was nearby, so I walked over and wandered around it for a while.  Then I walked back to the Termini area and explored for a while.

I returned to The Yellow hostel for the 8pm free night tour.  We saw many of the sites between The Yellow and the Trevi Fountain.  It surprisingly lasted three hours!

The famous Spanish Steps were closed

The famous Trevi fountain was also being repaired

Once the tour was complete, I showered and headed to sleep.  My bed felt like a memory foam mattress, and was very comfortable!
